What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine involves understanding the root cause, prevention, and treatment of complex, chronic disease.
Patient-centered care:
Spends time listening to patient history and addressing the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms; promotes health and vitality beyond just the absence of disease.
Integrative, science-based healthcare approach:
Considers the complex web of interactions in the patient’s physiology, genetics, environmental and lifestyle (mind-body) factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic illnesses.
Combination of best medical practices:
Incorporates Western medical practices with alternative or integrative medicine, focusing on prevention through factors including nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, and connections/relationships.
Uses the latest laboratory testing and diagnostic techniques; therapeutic diets or food plans, detox programs, stress-management techniques and lifestyle interventions.

Understands the foundations of Functional Medicine, its treatment protocols and resources to provide the best client-centered care.
Works closely with and supports a client around all of the lifestyle factors including Nutrition, Exercise/Movement, Sleep/Relaxation, Stress, Environment, and Social/Relationships, that influence health.
Facilitates and empowers a client through a process of self-discovery, leveraging internal strengths and external resources, and embracing self-management strategies in order to make sustainable, lifestyle behavior change necessary for optimal health and wellness.
Can help bridge the gap between medical visits by providing support for a client to make the necessary lifestyle modifications recommended by their doctor.

Health Coaching at RESTORE & REVEL…
As a health coach, I am your ally - to offer support, tools, knowledge and resources to help you make informed choices and to discover the right path for you toward healing and achieving your best self. You are not alone in this journey.
Intro/Discovery Session - 20 minutes
We'll talk about your current state of health and wellness, areas you want to improve, and if health coaching is right for you.
Foundation Session - 80 minutes
This extended session allows us to identify and explore your optimal vision of health, discuss the many facets of the lifestyle factors related to your goals, and your first action steps. Together, we'll lay the foundation of an initial wellness plan driven by your preferred agenda. You will be introduced to relevant wellness tools and resources used in Functional Medicine to help you navigate through this process.
Follow-up Sessions - 30 minutes or 60 minutes (weekly/bi-weekly)
These sessions are where the good stuff happens - self-discovery, self-empowerment, self-efficacy - and then you go out and apply your super strengths to your daily life…gradually, organically…paving the way for change to happen. We'll collaborate to co-create a plan and set goals that align with your vision. We'll evaluate, adjust, celebrate progress, and continue refining as we work towards achieving your goals.
